Yo Yo Emotions

Friday was a really awful day for me, the worst since I've been pregnant. I was just so tired and down.

Yesterday was a better day. I felt less tired and I had my hair cut, which always perks me up.

I have some kind of mild cold, with a very sore throat, headache and silly dry cough. Despite that, I feel much better in spirit than I did on Friday. I seem to have arrived at the weepy stage. Everything sets me off. I can have a good old cry and feel fine moments afterwards.

It was nice to put some make up on yesterday and look nice as my skin is grey and horrible. I look forward to the 'glowing' middle trimester. I also can't wait to get past the superstitious 12 week mark so we can start buying things ready for baby.

It's only 2 days until my first midwife appointment. Scared and excited!

  1. Woooo. Can't wait to hear all about your midwifes appointment.

Sorry to hear youre feeling icky and tired :o(. Those buggers have a habit of taking it out of you. Fingers crossed you'll have a nice normal pregnancy and a lovely glowing middle trimester.

Would you believe I didn't buy anything until after I turned 20 weeks as I was so worried. The only thing I had was some cardi's a woman at the hospital gave me on one of my stays (I think I was 16 weeks then).

    Doesn't superstation suck!

  2. I think I've worked out I'm anaemic. My breathing is SO laboured. Even walking on flat ground I'm huffing and puffing and I've been having palpitations as well. Tonight's' tea is 2 burgers, half a head of broccoli, some mash and onion. Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow, but I'll tell the midwife on Tuesday.

Blimey, I don't think I could wait till 5 months! Superstitions are silly but I think if anything were to go wrong *touch wood it doesn't* I'd beat myself up no end if I had bought something! Did you hear the superstition about not keeping the pram at home, but to leave it at someone else's?

  3. We also have those silly superstitions in Sweden, I´d never heard the one about the pram though, so that was new. Just be glad you live in England cause in Sweden it is also bad luck to tell someone outside your family that you are pregnant before week 12. I doubt I could keep it a secret that long *lol*..
How exciting to go to your first midwifes appointment:).. Unless you have problems in your early pregnancy or are doing an IVF like us, they don´t see you untill week 9 or 10 over here! You have to tell us everything darling:)..

  4. Oh God, I would die if I couldn't share the news! I don't know how anyone copes with that, hehehe.

They might give me an early scan since I had a miscarriage in 2003, but I will find out on Tuesday.

I hope the Slimming World lady hurries up and sends me the form for the midwife to sign on Tuesday, or else it'll delay my going to SW until the next time I see my midwife, which'll no doubt be a few more weeks. I don't suppose it makes any difference in the grand scheme of things, I just worry about putting weight on now my breathing is so shallow I can barely exercise at all. Even sitting down I sound like a heavy smoker.

    I will tell you everything that happens :) x x x

  6. Thanks hon, me too. I had to get out of bed after 2 hours of drowning in my own snot because I just can't get comfortable. My throat hurts so much, my tits ache like a grown man has been hanging off them ....... all in all I feel thoroughly miserable :/

On the plus side, it can only get better :) x x x

  7. I hadn't heard about the pram thing either. Ooops! Its been in my house for ages now, lol. As well as the cot as apparently you shouldnt put that up either. Your bloke is meant to do that when youre in hospital. I couldn't wait though.

I didn't have my first appointment until 9 and a bit weeks as well, that was just to fill in loads of paperwork and give me loads of leaflets and books. They didn't really talk to me at all about my pregnancy.

Its all been a bit lax here to be honest, Ive been disappointed after almost all of my midwife appointments. Fingers crossed you have a nice midwife you get to see from the start. I saw mine for the first time last week, lol.

  8. My dad is supposed to be getting our pram but I'm not convinced of that.... he's a little irresponsible with his finances (I can't think who takes after him!) so I will believe it when I see it. If we end up paying for it I'll put it in the sun room so 'technically' it's not in the house :)

I'm waiting for an appointment to see my midwife at the hospital now :)

Bah humbug to poopy midwife appointments!
